South Grove Primary is a friendly, culturally rich, vibrant and forward-thinking school community. It is an ‘Outstanding' (Ofsted January 2019) mainstream primary school with a designated Special Resourced Provision for children with autism and global delay. The Governors wish to appoint a dynamic, innovative, inspirational and visionary professional. The post would suit someone who demonstrates passion, commitment and the desire to make ‘a real difference.'

We are looking forward to hearing from dedicated and enthusiastic Music Specialists who are confident and creative to continue to provide an outstanding music provision across the school, and in their ability to encourage, engage and inspire children in the world of music and performing arts.

Within this role you will take on the responsibility for the day-to-day provision of music teaching, musical clubs and instrument teaching to all pupils across the school including the Special Resourced Provision pupils.

Working at South Grove Primary these last 3 years has been a wonderful and fulfilling experience. The children are eager to learn and the staff are warm and friendly. Music is a priority at South Grove with children receiving class music lessons, weekly singing assemblies and instrumental and choral music clubs. The music resources have been carefully selected to make the most out of every lesson - including keyboards, djembe drums, ukuleles; xylophones and auxiliary percussion. The school is also very inclusive and uses Makaton signing to accompany all school singing.

  • To have excellent subject knowledge and a proven track record of outstanding teaching
  • To provide both internal musical examination recognition and external liaison with music tuition services and examination boards
