A Winter Concert full of Sparkle and Celebrations!

Winter Concert - December 2025

We were spoilt on the last day of term with A Musical Winter Concert created by Ms Forbes to showcase the wonderful music that the children have experienced and thoroughly enjoyed during the Autumn Term.

It included every Year Group from Reception to Year 6 and the talents of the instrumental music groups that are taught by Ms Forbes and Holly our external guitar teacher from the Waltham Forest Music Services.

The concert was launched with a staff play entitled ‘With Bells On’ with our budding actors, Mr Combe aka ‘Steve/Dean’, Miss McFarlane aka ‘Kimberley’, Miss Grant aka ‘Patricia’ and Ms Forbes aka ‘the Teacher’. We sense that a few more acting lessons may be in order….

The advanced guitar club treated us to a rendition of ‘Friday I’m in Love’ by The Cure. They were so professional and confident really looking the part in their outfits!  The whole school accompanied by the Guitar Club, sang the classic Christmas song ‘Walking in the Air’ - it sounded wonderful and began to get us all in a festive mood!

A group of Reception children took to the stage and using their colourful scarves danced to the music of Let it snow. They really enjoyed themselves!  We then all joined in a rousing rendition of Feliz Navidad with the choir using Makaton before PLM took to the stage and, using percussion instruments, played along as we all sang Jingle Bells.

Year 4 then did a great job with their frosty hand-jive with some great moves!

The Purple Alligators Guitar Group gave us a great rendition of ‘Jingle Bell Rock.’ They were so confident and the whole school sang ‘Kindness is not just for Xmas’, which was really lovely and sung in such a heartfelt way by the children.

As if we couldn’t take any more, the light show by Year 6 was just magical in the darkness they created an effective use of different groups of coloured lights to music. Spectacular!

We then all sang ‘Somewhere only we know’, which is a real favourite song the children love to sing in singing practice and it really was evident.

Finally, we finished the Music Concert off in style with our very favourite Christmas song ‘Must be Santa’, using Makaton.

It was an amazing Music Concert and we thanked both Holly from the Music Service and Ms Forbes for an amazing time. Our parent and carer audience were brilliant and gave so much support and encouragement for all the children. Thank you!

Please don’t forget the musical events we have to look forward to next term:

Here’s what the audience had to say:
