So many of us had never been to the theatre and we were in awe of the set design and the costuming, especially how realistic Paddington was! We got to hear a fantastic range of musical numbers such as the 'Rhythm of London' (an amazing number that made us all very proud of being from London and representing the values of Paddington Bear), the Geographers Song (a great expression of the life of an explorer) and everyone's favourite 'M-M-M-M-M Marmalade!' Then we all had a tear in our eye watching Paddington's experiences of love and family.

Wednesday 21 January 2026 Year 3 get Inspired by Abstract Art This week in year 3, we were inspired by abstract art. Abstract art is something that does not try to represent something realistically so sometimes it can look a little strange or odd. We took parts of a fossilled shell in its complex form and spilt it into a circle, a spiral, a curved line and radiating lines too. Using charcol we drew those first and then using chalk and pastels we decorated and blended them to give them an abstract look. Can you spot the different parts of the shell. Keep an eye out around school to see our fabulous fossil abstract art!

We watched a range of videos to help us understand the sights, smells and sounds that we may encounter on our strolls through the mountains. Next, we then watched a guide on how to survive a bear attack and learnt that bear spray is an essential item! As we watched these we took notes on what our experiences may be like in the forest to help inform our acting task. Thursday 27 November 2025 Year 4 Study the Human Form "Last week Year 4 continued their artwork based on the Human Body and form. We began by playing a game where one person per table came to the front and drew a person doing an action for their team to guess. This allowed the us to experiment with conveying activity and bodies in a new and exciting manner. Once our incredibly competitive game finished we then moved onto the main part of the lesson. Unlike in other weeks where we practiced mastering the human form using charcoal for shading and simple block line drawings; this time Year 4 drew their peers in as much detail as possible, making sure to include their facial expressions, clothing, hair and body language. We really enjoyed the opportunities to try different poses and how these impact how other people draw us!"
