Year 5's World Book Day 2026

Year 5 started the week with an exciting live lesson with Michael Rosen and friends, who took us on a delicious journey through food-related tales from around the world. The class were inspired to create their own tasty stories using creative storytelling prompts and a draw-along illustration activity, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

On World Book Day itself, the children loved dressing up as their favourite book characters and taking part in another live lesson to celebrate the joy of reading. One of the highlights of the day was creating a fun quiz where children described different book characters using three clues, while their classmates tried to guess who they were.

Overall, it was a fantastic day filled with creativity, imagination and a shared love of books.
