Summer Concert 2026

Summer Concert 2026

It was the final one of the year and also the final concert for Miss Samuels as she finished with us on Friday too.

With a packed audience of very supportive parents and carers we begun the concert with one of the children’s favourite songs ‘Lean on me.’ The lyrics are really poignant and remind children of how they can help their friends and their peers within the school community and beyond.

Next, with the support of Holly, the children’s guitar tutor, the advance guitar group gave us a rendition of ‘Can’t stop,’ but the Red Hot Chili Peppers, which they did brilliantly.

Up next were the choir, accompanied by the advanced guitar group, singing ‘Wonderwall’ by Oasis. (They were quietly joined by lots of adults too!).

We had a unique next feature with Aniya and Nyla, singing acapella, without any instrumental accompaniment. Not only this but they had written the lyrics themselves to go with the song ‘Runaway,’ by the singer Aurora.

I think for the first time, we had a solo by Jacqueline who was accompanied by a percussion group using the stacking cups. The song was of course, The Cup Song, by Anna Kendrick. Well done to Ladan, Nyla, Isla, Olivia, Rosie and Ida for their cub percussion and of course to Jacqueline.

We were treated to ‘The Secret 7,’ intermediate guitar group, who with their unique individual styles, performed ‘On top of the world,’ by Imagine Dragons.  Holly provided the vocals for them. Well done to Rowan, Elias, Celia, Felicity and Jahsiah. Thank you to Hafsah for the piano accompaniment too. The children just keep going from strength to strength in their confidence.

Next we had soloist performances from Otis and Celia on the drums. These were their own arrangements, very original!

The KS1 choir did a beautiful rendition of ‘When I grow up,’ from the musical Matilda. It was amazing and the soloists at the end had everyone melting at the end. It was beautiful.

There was not stopping Aniya with another solo. This time she performed an original song of her own. Not a hint of nerves either!

The final whole school song was a very fitting way to finish the Summer Concert with the song ‘Don’t stop believing,’ which featured Aaron playing on the piano.

There were whoops of delight and rousing applause as the concert came to a close. The children were thanked for all their performances and it did not go unnoticed how accomplished and much more confident they had all become during the course of the year. Our thanks went to Holly for her support throughout the year with the concerts. Particular thanks went to Miss Samuels as it was her last day with us, as Miss Forbes returns on Monday.

Here's what the parents had to say:

That was truly amazing – you’re all so talented.  Huge well done – keep going!

Brilliant – proud of you all!

Fantastic show everyone!

Wonderful!
