Year 3 Feel the (Magnetic) Force

We have been learning about magnets and magnetic forces. We investigated a variety of metals to discover whether they were magnetic or non-magnetic. There were many surprises, as not all of the coins were magnetic, even though we had predicted they might be.

This week, we also explored the different parts of a magnet and learned how magnetic poles work. We discovered that opposite poles (north and south) attract each other, while like poles (north and north or south and south) repel each other.
