Year Five Explore Christianity
As part of their RE learning, year 5 have been exploring whether Christians can truly live by the values of Jesus in the 21st century. They focused particularly on the themes of love and forgiveness. Through discussions and real-life examples, they considered how people show love to others in everyday situations, reflecting on how qualities such as patience, kindness and humility can be shown in everyday actions and relationship. The class also explored Jesus’ teaching that we should forgive others, even when it is difficult. They examined different scenarios and reflected on the challenges of forgiving someone who has hurt them. They were especially struck by the example of Jesus praying for those responsible for his crucifixion, showing compassion and forgiveness even in suffering. This helped deepen their understanding of how these values can still be relevant and meaningful today.
