Year Three Explore the Death of Osiris
There has been lots of learning going on in Year 3!
We became historians and writers as we learned about Howard Carter and his incredible discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb.
We also explored the Death of Osiris, learning about the Egyptian gods and the stories and beliefs that were important to the Ancient Egyptians.
Our creative side came out during our art activities, where we created Egyptian-themed silhouette art using pastels. We created our own artwork inspired by the Ancient Egyptians.
We have also enjoyed some lovely discussions about Christianity, sharing our thoughts, asking thoughtful questions and listening respectfully to the ideas of others. It has been wonderful to see the children becoming increasingly confident when explaining their ideas and responding to different viewpoints.
In maths, we have been working on place value, looking at the different values of each digit in a three-digit number and exploring what happens when 1, 10 or 100 are added or taken away.
