Year Three Walk to School

During Walk to School Week, Year 3 carried out a simple wildlife survey by observing pollinators around the school grounds. The children discussed what could be added to the school environment to attract more pollinator, such as wildflowers and insect-friendly habitats.

We also explored how everyday streets can either support or harm pollinators and considered how choosing to walk, scoot, wheel or cycle can help create a healthier environment. Through these activities, the children developed a greater understanding of the important role pollinators play in our ecosystem, and how sustainable travel choices can benefit both wildlife and people.
